Tristan Thompson’s had just about enough of Mario Chalmers’ scathing criticism of LeBron James.

“Guys be on some sucker s**t. I don’t like that kind of stuff,” Thompson told Draymond Green on The Draymond Green Podcast. “Guys are retired and not playing basketball, now you want to talk s**t about a guy that you won a championship with?”

Thompson, who played alongside James during his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, said he was shocked and taken aback by Chalmers’ comments. “Mario Chalmers at one point you were probably texting LeBron to get on a team for a job,” he hilariously added.

Earlier, Chalmers didn’t pull his punches when he spoke to Playmaker. “Nobody fears Bron,” the former Miami Heat star had said. “Nobody’s like, ‘Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight.’ Nobody said that.”

The tirade continued, but Thompson was quick to leap to James’ defense. He added that Chalmers, who played with James during their time with Miami “had no beef” whatsoever, but the remarks were uncalled for.

James and Thompson won a title together with the Cavaliers in 2016, beating Green and the Golden State Warriors. Now, he’s supporting James again, off the hardwood.

Tristan Thompson Unlikely To Join LeBron James And The Los Angeles Lakers This Season

Tristan Thompson and Tony Bradley were reportedly worked out by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier to come in as reinforcements for the injured Mo Bamba and the still-on-the-mend Anthony Davis. But it appears that neither of the players will be on the LA roster this season.

According to Dave McMenamin, head coach Darvin Ham said the centers were unlikely to be signed on a contract and that the team was doing its due diligence.

Thompson averaged 6.0 points and 5.1 rebounds last season, and while he is a solid rebounding presence, he does come with offensive limitations — an issue the Lakers were plagued with throughout their season before fixing it ahead of the trade deadline. More importantly, it’s also unlikely that neither of these big men would get ample minutes as the regular season draws to a close.

Irrespective of whether he suits up with James or not, Thompson has his former teammate’s back, and that’s some real respect that James will have for him.
