We’re one day away from the 2023 NBA Draft and from seeing Victor Wembanyama getting selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the No. 1 overall pick.

The Frenchman has left a big impression on everybody leading up to the draft, and according to our predictions, he will be selected with the first selection of the night without any doubt. Talking about the future duels he’ll have in the league against some of the best players in the world, the young big man said on “Good Morning America“:

“The most important is to not step on the court being too humble,” he said of his mentality for the next professional chapter. “You gotta be humble enough — to be able to respect the game — but if you step on a court too humble and scared, you can’t do anything.”

Talking about the NBA draft, Wembanyama explained that this is a big event and he’s ready for all the emotions he’s going to feel. The special night will be the first of the rest of his life, and he’s very excited about it.

“It’s an event that I’ve been waiting for and I’ve been thinking about for the last years,” Wembanyama said, adding how special it is for his whole family. “Our life is gonna change from one day to another — for sure one of the most important nights in my life.”

Ever since he learned that the Spurs secured the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, Wemby celebrated. He was visibly happy that the Houston Rockets didn’t get the pick and made some enemies along the way, but he’s ready to start his professional career with the best franchise for his development.

Victor Wembanyama Claims He’s Unstoppable

Talking with JJ Redick, Wembanyama stated that he’s unstoppable since he knows what to do on the court. The Frenchman knows what he’s capable of doing and achieving, which makes him a big threat to the rest of the league.

He’s boasting huge confidence and isn’t even bothered about comparisons with other great prospects like LeBron James. The French player is well aware of that and says that he himself places big expectations on his career

So far, pressure doesn’t seem to be affecting Wembanyama. It remains to be seen if things will change once he sets foot on the NBA court.
