Shannon Sharpe bid a tearful adieu on Tuesday as he officially announced that it was his final appearance on Skip Bayless and FS1’s ‘Undisputed’.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is officially my last day at work,” the former NFL star said on Tuesday’s episode. “After seven years, the train stops for Shannon Sharpe and ‘Undisputed’ right here.”
And he had an emotional message for Bayless. “I’ll never forget what you did for me,” Sharpe said, breaking down. “I am here because of you. You have allowed me to share the stage with you.
“You’ve allowed me to share the platform. I will cry in the car, I’m not gonna cry now. The opportunity that you gave me, to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. You helped me grow more than you ever know.”
“All I ask is when you lay your head on your pillow at night, know I gave you everything I had.” To which the latter had an equally lavish response: “The greatest compliment I can give you is you were a worthy adversary.”

Per the New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel, Sharpe and Fox Sports reached a buyout agreement and he would wrap up with the show after the 2023 NBA Finals, which ended Monday night with the Nuggets winning their first NBA championship.
Skip Bayless Had An Equally Emotional Moment With Shannon Sharpe
Despite the two hosts going toe-to-toe on numerous occasions, Bayless had some words of praise for his co-host and thanked him for being the ultimate professional.
“I want to thank you for all you have given to me,” Bayless said. “When I first took this job back in June of 2016 we had a whole other format in mind until it became clear Shannon Sharpe is available and I said, ‘I believe he can do this’ and Did you ever.
“You dedicated yourself to this job the way you dedicated yourself to football as a Hall of Famer. I want to thank you for never taking a sick day. I want to thank you for preparing as hard as you could every single day, every single topic.”
While at it, Bayless didn’t miss a beat to call out LeBron James again. “I’m going to miss our LeBron battles even though he’s still the phony GOAT.”
Both the TV personalities clashed a few times on the show — the Damar Hamlin incident being the most recent. But given their emotional goodbyes, it appears that their feud has been put to rest.
