LaVar Ball Says He’s Been Pushing Michael Jordan To Get All 3 Ball Brothers In Charlotte

2 Min Read

With LaMelo Ball lighting it up in Charlotte, we knew it was only a matter of time before we’d hear from his father, LaVar.

Sure enough, in a chat with the LA Times this week, the infamous voice was given a platform again, to where he shared his ultimate goal of getting all three of his sons (LaMelo, Lonzo, and LiAngelo) together on the Hornets.

“Predicting the level of championship success his sons attained as prep teammates, he says he has spent this NBA season trying to tell Michael Jordan, the NBA icon-turned-owner of the Charlotte Hornets, who drafted LaMelo third overall in November, to add all three brothers to their roster,” Greif wrote.

LaVar’s quest to get all of his sons on the same team is no secret to anyone in the community — it’s been a long time coming now. But what are the chances that it actually happens?

Lonzo is set to be a restricted free agent this summer, so it’s possible that the Hornets can give him an offer that New Orleans won’t be willing to match. If not, they can always formulate a compelling trade package to get him that way.

As for LiAngelo, he’s not currently in the league and there are no signs that the Hornets will consider signing him. But, who knows, maybe LaVar will do enough convincing to give his middle son another chance.

Needless to say, it’s still more of a pipe dream that these three end up on the same roster. But with both LiAngelo and Lonzo proving their worth, it’s more probable now than ever before that we’ll see a Ball family reunion in the NBA.
