Topps Now has unveiled a 1/1 card featuring the autographs of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo appears to be desperate to get it. Antetokoumpo stated he would be willing to double the highest offer for the card, which currently stands at $500,000.

You might think that $1 million for a basketball card might be a bit too much, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case when you consider the context. This card could potentially be worth a lot more in the future.

James, Curry, and Durant teamed up in a competitive setting for the first time at the 2024 Olympics and led Team USA to the gold with a perfect 6-0 record. We’re unlikely to see the trio on the same team ever again (except for the All-Star Games), so a card to mark the occasion might fetch millions down the road. Here are some more details on the card from Shawn Grant of Source Sports.

“In celebration of Team USA men’s basketball’s gold medal triumph at the 2024 Olympics, Topps Now unveiled an ultra-rare redemption card featuring a 1/1 triple on-card autograph. This exclusive card showcases the signatures of basketball legends LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant—marking the first-ever Topps autographed card from James and the first time all three stars have been featured together on a signed card.”

The fact that this is also the first time that James, Curry, and Durant have been featured together makes this card all the more appealing. I wouldn’t scoff at Giannis, who is in the final year of his five-year, $228 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, or anyone else for being willing to pay a lot of money for the card.

Grant Williams Believes Luka Doncic Would Pay Him $1 Million For His Rare Card

This isn’t the first time that the number $1 million has been thrown around for a basketball card. Last month, Grant Williams pulled a valuable Luka Doncic card and reckoned the Dallas Mavericks star would pay him $1 million for it.

“I said I’ve got to give Luka the first right to refusal, just because he would buy this for like a million I bet,” Williams said. “So, that’s why I was like let me make sure I call Luka. I FaceTimed him twice, he didn’t pick up. He’s in Slovenia right now. So he’ll call me back and I got to talk to him about it because this is absurd.”

That card features a patch from Doncic’s jersey and his autograph, and Williams claimed to have received offers of $250,000, $300,000, and $500,000 for it. He wanted to give his former teammate first refusal, though, so didn’t agree to sell it right away.

It’s unclear if Williams and Doncic have had a conversation since then. If the Slovenian did turn down the chance to buy it, the Charlotte Hornets forward can still make a big chunk of money from elsewhere, considering the offers he had got when he pulled the card.
