Rondo’s box score numbers from the Finals don’t scream Finals MVP, but his on-court impact during the series was indisputable. He put up 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 7.6 assists in seven games, notching a triple-double in a Game 2 win.
The 2010 Finals Were Amazing To Watch
We haven’t seen many seven-game Finals series in recent years, with the last taking place in 2016 when the Cleveland Cavaliers came back from 3-1 to beat the Warriors. The 2010 Finals was one of the best seven-game series we have seen, as both teams fought very hard to try and walk away with the win.
The Celtics had a balanced attack, with nobody averaging more than 18 points, as Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rondo look to overcome the Lakers through a team effort.
The Lakers, on the other hand, were led by Kobe Bryant, who averaged 28.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on his way to winning Finals MVP.
Pau Gasol put in a fantastic shift as well, averaging more points (18.6) per game than the Celtics’ leading scorer, Paul Pierce, who averaged 18.0 points.
