Stephen Curry is currently one of the best players in the NBA. It took years of hard work for Curry to reach this level.

While Curry is a sensational player today, he had a horrendous debut as a freshman for Davidson Wildcats. Steph shared that he had 13 turnovers in his first game.

“My 1st college game, we were playing against Eastern Michigan,” Curry said. “I had 13 turnovers in my 1st game. I had 9 at halftime. [Coach] had to decide whether he was going to keep playing me or not because I was bad.”

Curry added: “I sucked that game and it was a hundred times worse watching it than I remembered back in the day.”

Curry had just 15 points to go along with 13 turnovers in his debut game at Davidson. However, the coach trusted Curry, and it paid off for the team. Curry, in the next game vs. Michigan, recorded 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

For his college career, Curry averaged 25.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 3.7 APG over 104 games in three years.

Stephen Curry Has No Plans To Retire From The NBA

Stephen Curry was drafted into the league as the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Since getting into the league, Curry has improved his game astronomically.

Over the last 14 years, Steph has won four NBA Championships, among other accolades. One may wonder if the 35-year-old superstar is getting closer to retirement. Curry recently gave an answer that fans will love.

“Oh, absolutely,” Curry answered about still getting nervous before games. “I feel like that if I don’t get nervous or adrenaline, that’ll be the sign that I need to quit because it won’t matter. The nerves, obviously, just indicate that I want to be successful, and it’s meaningful what I’m doing. So I hope to be nervous for many more years to come.”

Thankfully, the Warriors legend has no plans to retire anytime soon. Curry will continue entertaining fans with his elite ability to play the game of basketball until he loses motivation.
