Stephen Curry Believes The Warriors Roster Makes A Lot More Sense After Adding Chris Paul

"For us, it's about trying to make the pieces fit a little bit better," Curry said on the team's roster construction ahead of the upcoming season.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry believes the team roster has shaped up for the better with the addition of seasoned veteran Chris Paul.

Speaking on the sidelines of the American Century Golf event, Curry told NBC Sports that the team roster makes sense with Paul in the fold.

“For us, it’s about trying to make the pieces fit a little bit better. Try to give us more versatility on both sides of the ball. And we understand our core is back. Adding CP and some other vets will really help us fill out that rotation and increase our depth. Our team makes a lot more sense this year.”

Curry has been vocal in his support of Paul joining Golden State. Earlier, he called CP3 one of the best point guards to have played the game.

“I mean I’m super excited in terms of you know our history, competing against CP over the years,” Curry said. “He’s an unbelievable talent, one of the best point guards to ever play this game. It’s well understood every team that he’s been on, has been elevated, and obviously, we’ve won championships, we’re trying to get back to that level, and to add a guy like that knows how to run an offense, that is pretty versatile in terms of what he can do.”

With the Warriors team looking more seasoned this time, one will expect them to go the distance. After their second-round exit at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers this past season, it remains to be seen if they can make another title run.

All Eyes Will Be On Stephen Curry To Shepherd The Warriors This Time

With the Warriors relying heavily on their core trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, all eyes will be on Curry to see if he can deliver another title for the Warriors.

“If Steph doesn’t get stronger post-2020, he’s still Steph Curry, and he’s still shooting the piss out of the ball, but him getting as strong as he got actually changed his game,” said Draymond Green. “It’s actually made him much more effective. You can’t run him off his spot, you can’t just bump him, and he’s falling over. He’s getting to where he wants to go.”

Should Curry have another breakout season, the Warriors can all but be assured that the team has another chance of winning a championship for the second time in three years. But they need Curry healthy.
