D’Angelo Russell hit back at haters on social media with a clip of him showcasing his passing skills.

Taking to Twitter, Russell retweeted a clip of him diming one to Joe Harris and captioned it, “Pedestrians forget so quick.”

The Los Angeles Lakers point guard, who inked a two-year, $37 million contract during the 2023 NBA Free Agency with the team, has been at the receiving end from fans ever since his paltry run in the playoffs this past season.

Russell had a strong regular season but was woeful in the playoffs. Even with his 17.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists through the 71 games he played during the year, he averaged just 13.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in the 16 playoff games for LA.

His lack of consistency in the Conference Finals was one of the main reasons behind the Nuggets sweeping the Lakers. Prior to his latest shot at critics, Russell had slammed the haters earlier as well using stats as proof of his capabilities.

Russell and Gabe Vincent are now the Lakers’ point guard options and that would mean the team will have enough depth in the absence of Dennis Schroder.

It’s Gabe Vincent vs. D’Angelo Russell In The Lakers Training Camp

One of the key additions for the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason was point guard Gabe Vincent. Though he is widely expected to be the backup behind D’Angelo Russell, Jovan Buha of The Athletic said that he could earn the starting job if he betters Russell in trading camp.

“The projected lineups are fluid. Russell is the early favorite to start at point guard, but Vincent could earn the spot if he outplays him in training camp, team sources told The Athletic.”

During the playoffs for the Miami Heat, Vincent averaged 12.7 PPG, 1.4 RPG, and 3.5 APG. Now, it will be healthy competition between two Lakers players who will gun for a starting spot.
