The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that made the Western Conference Finals this season, and they will likely push to try and win a championship next season. The team’s priorities have seemingly been toughness and defense, with their latest signing definitely fitting that mold.

A recent report from Shams Charania revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers have landed Gabe Vincent, signing the guard to a three-year, $33 million deal. The guard was notably a key part of the Miami Heat’s Cinderella run to the NBA Finals.

Gabe Vincent will fill the void for the Los Angeles Lakers at point guard, with players like D’Angelo Russell and Dennis Schroder being free agents. He will be a solid two-way contributor and will be able to get plenty of open shots off of the gravity of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. As of right now, he projects to be one of the better players on the team in the 2023-24 season.

During the 2022-23 playoffs, Gabe Vincent averaged 12.7 PPG, 1.4 RPG, and 3.5 APG for the Miami Heat, while shooting 37.8% from 3PT range on 6.1 attempts a game. He is clearly a role player that can step up in the biggest moments, and will certainly help the Los Angeles Lakers compete for a championship next season.
