After securing the best record in the league this past season, the Milwaukee Bucks flamed out in epic fashion during the Eastern Conference playoffs. After their shocking first-round defeat, many experts were concerned about the team’s future, especially with two of their premier players scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency.

One such player was multiple-time All-Star Khris Middleton, but a recent report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed that Khris will stay with the Bucks after agreeing to a new three-year deal.

Love him or hate him, re-signing Middleton was a no-brainer for the Bucks. As, arguably, one of the best names available on the market, it would have been close to impossible to replace Middleton with a player of equal value.

Of course, the Bucks will also look to re-sign Brook Lopez as well, but his plans remain uncertain at this time.

Can The Bucks Make Amends For Last Season?

Middleton averaged over 15 points for the Bucks last season, but he was in and out of the lineup as he suffered with various injuries throughout the season. In the playoffs, he was very inconsistent against the Heat and couldn’t carry the load when Giannis went out with an injury.

Still, between Middleton, Giannis, and Lopez (assuming he re-signs), the Bucks have a solid core that has already proven they can win at the highest level. Additionally, new head coach Adrian Griffin will have a whole new game plan to maximize the strengths of his players.

“Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo vouched for Adrian Griffin to become the franchise’s next head coach,” Chris Haynes reported.

Nobody knows how the rest of this summer will play out for Milwaukee, but as long as they have Giannis and a viable All-Star as his sidekick, they will always be a threat to win the title. Unless they can work some magic and add something new to the roster, it may be tough to beat out the rising competition out East. Only time will tell…
