Zion Williamson is arguably the biggest repressed talent in the NBA, consistently struggling to get his groove on the court due to injuries.

Williamson has spent a majority of his first four seasons in the NBA sidelined with his weight being attributed as a major factor. Despite that, fans aren’t excited about an image of Zion looking thin surfacing on social media.

Fans don’t care how he’s looking off the court unless they can see him on the court.

Wearing a black t-shirt makes you look slimmer, so some fans joked about getting a new picture to leak with him wearing white.

His inability to stay healthy till January makes some fans not care about this progress.

Pictures of Zion looking thin were compared to the infamous Ben Simmons’ offseason shooting drill videos that were used to drum up hype about their next season.

One fan joked about his similarities with Zion.

Another fan compared him to NFL broadcaster and former player Booger McFarland, whose career ended after a knee injury.

Some fans are hoping for the best, as one doubted his ability to stay healthy while praising his game.

The future with Zion right now is extremely unclear. There is clear animosity between the team and the player, with David Griffin blaming Zion for not being available while reports suggest there’s a poor relationship between the New Orleans Pelicans front office and Zion’s family

Is Zion Williamson To Blame For His Durability?

It’s no surprise that Zion is injury-prone, as it was the biggest concern around him when he was drafted in 2019. Those issues have lived up to their severity, as Zion cannot find a way to be healthy at the end of seasons. He played just 24 games in his rookie season, followed up by his first All-Star season as a sophomore where he played 61 games. He got hurt at the end of that season and missed this third season in the league entirely.

He looked amazing this season upon returning as well until a hamstring injury sidelined him at the start of the year. He never made it back to the court but was still nominated as an All-Star for the dominance he showed in a short period of time, averaging 36.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 29 games played this season.

Williamson’s size has always been a concern, but there has to be an underlying reason beyond his weight that has impacted him so much. It’s worth a shot to be slimmer and see the difference in his durability, so hopefully, that’s one of his focuses this offseason.
