The New Orleans Pelicans were ousted from the play-in tournament by the Oklahoma City Thunder. What looked like a promising season for the franchise ended in disappointment. And Zion made quite a splash with a statement he made ahead of the game.

Zion Williamson again missed a large chunk of the season due to a hamstring injury. And he said that even though he was physically fit before the playoffs, he didn’t feel confident to play. This led to Skip Bayless saying the organization and the players have issues with him, and he went on to further say that the problem is between the front office and Williamson’s stepfather.

“Zion’s independent team of medical people say he’s only 99 percent and they don’t want to completely clear him until he’s 100 percent ready to go,” Bayless said. “Team management is increasingly at odds with Zion’s stepfather, who is sort of running the show for the Zion camp.

“The stepfather is increasingly unhappy with the team because it continues to exercise the clause in his contract that every month, they can weigh him.”

Zion Williamson’s future is starting to look a little shaky, considering all the conversation around him at the moment. If he is not able to stay fit next season, shouts to move on from him will likely begin. He is at a crossroads in his young career, and hopefully, things work out after another long offseason.

Larry Nance Jr. Clapped Back At Skip Bayless’ Other Claims

It’s hard to confirm the veracity of these reports from Bayless, who is a talking head more than an on-ground reporter at this point in his career. And Larry Nance Jr. already made it clear that the players have no problem with Zion, as Skip had claimed they do.

“No one in our locker room is looking at Z any type of way,” Nance tweeted. “We’re with him every step of his rehab, and support his process, physically AND mentally! Don’t listen to people saying things just to get views!!”

It’s all looking a bit dicey in New Orleans at the moment, and Zion Williamson’s future hangs in the balance. It’s too soon to say he won’t pan out, but if there are problems between his camp and the front office, that doesn’t bode well.
