Ben Gordon has been making headlines in the past couple of months and not precisely for the best reasons. The former Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons player has been involved in controversy, and things haven’t changed a bit.
Gordon was once again arrested at a Connecticut juice shop due to his erratic behavior.
“Former NBA guard Ben Gordon was arrested on weapons and threatening charges after he began behaving erratically in a Connecticut juice shop, police said.
“Just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, several 911 callers reported “a male acting aggressively and in a bizarre manner” inside a juice shop in Stamford, the city’s assistant police chief, Richard Conklin, said Thursday.”
The Associated Press (via ESPN) reports that the player kept acting erratic even after police officers arrived at the place. They tried to arrest him, but he made the process difficult.
To make things worse, the authorities found a folding knife clipped to Gordon’s pocket and a stun gun, and brass knuckles in his backpack. If things weren’t going that well for him lately, this just makes his situation worse.
Ben Gordon Has Been Involved In Issues With Justice
As stated before, Gordon has been involved in these situations with justice. Back in October, he was arrested for hitting his 10-year-old son at an airport. A couple of months later, he tried to stab civilians with a sewing needle.
It’s pretty clear that Gordon isn’t going through a good moment in his life, and somebody needs to get him the right help or have a talk with the player and let him know that this isn’t the way. We’ve seen so many players lose their way after leaving the league, and it’s sad to see what’s happening to Gordon.
Hopefully, he can get his life back on track, and these situations will stay in the past for him. During his NBA career, he posted 14.9 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 744 regular-season games while winning the Sixth Man of the Year award once.
