The Los Angeles Lakers lost against the Los Angeles Clippers for the 11th consecutive game. After the loss, the Lakers are now seventh in the West, and the only way to get to the sixth position is if they win their next one or two games, depending on if the Warriors lose one or both games until the end of the season.

During the postgame conference, LeBron James was asked about his thoughts on the fate of the Lakers after the defeat. James believes the Lakers are ready for wherever they end up after the regular season is over.

“It is what it is wherever we end up, that’s where we end up,” James said. “It’s been like four, five seasons in one for us. We don’t have the luxury of saying, ‘This is what we need to do, this is where we’re gonna be.’ Just still continue to play good basketball. We got another game on Friday vs. a very good team, and then we end the season on Sunday vs. Utah. We’ll see what happens; wherever we fall, we’ll be ready to go.”

The Lakers currently have a 41-39 record and hold the seventh seed in the Western Conference. As of now, the Lakers are in a play-in tournament spot. With two games left in the season, the Lakers would ideally like to go 2-0 in those games, but it’s easier said than done.

LeBron James Wants The Los Angeles Lakers To Compete For The NBA Title

The 2022-23 NBA campaign has been far from ideal for the Los Angeles Lakers. But all things considered, the Lakers theoretically still have a shot at winning it all this season.

LeBron James, who is hunting for the fifth ring of his career, wants the Lakers to compete for the NBA Championship this season.

“We just want to put ourselves in a position to be able to compete for a championship,” LeBron said. “It’s a journey, and obviously, we don’t have as much chemistry as a lot of other teams that are trying to compete for a championship or have aspirations to win a championship, but I like what we’ve been building over the last month or so.”

It’s a great mentality from the leader of the Purple and Gold. The Lakers are all set to play against the Phoenix Suns this Friday. If they can win against Kevin Durant and co., it will be a huge morale booster for the entire team before finishing their season by playing against the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
