Golden State Warriors Are Struggling Because Of Jordan Poole’s Biggest Flaw, Claims NBA Analyst

The Golden State Warriors are having issues this season because of a key issue in Jordan Poole's game, says Monte Poole of NBC Sports.

The Golden State Warriors are at .500 so far this season, sitting at 20-20 in 6th place in the Western Conference. But while an automatic playoff berth seems impressive, it is important to know that they are only half a game ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers in the 10th seed, and 1 game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 11th seed.

Stephen Curry‘s absence has been a big issue for the Warriors, they have been without their superstar for 11 games now. They did pull off a 5-game winning streak without the greatest shooter ever, but the problems have shown up time and again, including their last two losses against the Detroit Pistons and the Orlando Magic. And while many have their takes on why the Warriors have struggled, one analyst has pointed the finger at Jordan Poole.

Jordan Poole’s Inconsistency Has Been Highlighted As The Problem

Jordan Poole is the man that is expected to help fill the void Stephen Curry has left behind. While no one can ever replace Curry, Poole has shown enough flashes of brilliance for the team to now have expectations from him. And while he’s had some big nights, Jordan Poole has also been inconsistent and shaky, which has been mentioned as the problem for the Warriors by Monte Poole of NBC Sports.

“The Warriors knew from the beginning of Jordan Poole’s time as the starting point guard that they would fly no higher than his wings would take them,” Poole wrote. “They’re getting a good look at the limit. Though JP has star moments, it’s evident he is years away from reaching his potential.

“Gorgeous flashes of wonder, when he combines efficiency with spectacle, do not amount to consistency. Poole’s inconsistency is first among several reasons why the Warriors over the past few days have regressed to the mediocrity they hoped they had left behind. As Poole faltered, so did they.”

He had some massive performances during the Warriors’ win streak recently, but in his last 3 games, he has shot barely 36% from the field and just about 21% from three-point range. It’s safe to say that Poole has to improve if he wants to be the future of the franchise in the long term. If he can find a way to deliver consistently though, it’s sure to add quite a few wins for his team.
