Lakers Fans Are Over The Moon After Dominant Win Over Spurs

Los Angeles Lakers fans were very excited after their team put up a dominant performance against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Los Angeles Lakers vanquished the San Antonio Spurs 125-109 in what was a crucial win in the Western Conference. After a four-game losing streak, the Lakers are now 2-0 in their last two games, and looking like the strong team they had been prior to LeBron James’ injury and their road trip slump. Granted, they faced a depleted Spurs team, but all wins count the same.

Austin Reaves was absolutely phenomenal against the Spurs, putting up 30 points (12-21 FG), seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Luka Doncic had an off night, delivering just 21 points (5-20 FG), nine rebounds, 14 assists, three steals, and one block. Jordan Goodwin had a great game, with 15 points (6-9 FG), four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block.

This win gives the Lakers a 42-25 record, with them now just one game behind the Memphis Grizzlies in fourth place, who lost to the Sacramento Kings to bring their record to 43-25. The Lakers could realistically leapfrog over the Grizzlies, and cause problems for the Nuggets should they win their next game against Denver at Crypto.com Arena.

Lakers fans were thrilled with the way their team performed on the night. Many fans celebrated the impact that Luka had on the rest of the team, specifically Jaxson Hayes. While others gave credit to Dorian Finney-Smith and Austin Reaves, with the latter leading the team in scoring against the Spurs.

“Even when Luka Doncic shoots miserably from the field, he’s still BY FAR the most impactful player on the floor. When he’s on the court, EVERYONE plays better. He’s a commander of a unit and dictates everything — everyone gets wide-open shots at the rim or from three.”

“When Bron comes back the Lakers are, for real, gonna look like the scariest team in the West again smh.”

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night at 10 PM EST at the Crypto.com Arena. If the Lakers are able to defeat the Nuggets, they could cause a dent in their rival’s hopes of securing the second seed, and possibly even usurp them in the Western Conference standings. Wednesday night will be a must-watch affair, especially after the Lakers’ close loss to the Nuggets this past weekend.
