Gilbert Arenas Urges LeBron James, Kevin Durant, And Kyrie Irving To Team Up On The Lakers: “You Did Enough Against Each Other, Let’s Do It Together.”

The Brooklyn Nets were widely expected to become a perennial contender for years to come when they acquired Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in 2019 and it seemed like a foregone conclusion that they would win soon when James Harden joined a season later. However, that has all fallen apart spectacularly, with Irving and Durant now both set to leave after KD requested a trade from the franchise.

The Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat have been spoken about a lot when it comes to Durant, but Irving has mostly been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers. Having won a championship alongside LeBron James already, a reunion is something that the Lakers and Kyrie are both reportedly trying to make happen.

However, considering that Durant is aiming to continue playing with Irving if possible, there have been suggestions that the Lakers should acquire both of them somehow. Gilbert Arenas suggested it on his podcast, urging all 3 to team up in Los Angeles.

“Who cares what the media thinks, right? Who cares what they’re trying to say? Them old a** reporting people that’s sitting in them booths trying to dictate the game, this is not about them.

“Imagine Michael Jackson and Prince doing a collab. That’s what the world missed. They put them two as the biggest rivals and because they wanted to be the best, they never collabed for a song.

“I’m not gonna let that happen for us. Goddamnit, you two motherf***ers collab. I don’t care what anybody say, they gonna be watching those games. Front row Laker tickets gonna be a $100,000. So LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, do what you gotta do. Do what you gotta do. We gotta see the best 2 players in the world together. Y’all did enough against each other. Let’s do it together.”

The idea of Kevin Durant and LeBron James on the same team is an exciting albeit unfair one without even factoring in Kyrie Irving and what he would bring to the table. There would be a lot of things that could go wrong with that, and they would all be widely criticized for doing so, but the one thing Arenas is right about is that it would make for some must-watch basketball.
