Kendrick Perkins Gets Brutally Honest About Kyrie Irving: “Since He Left LeBron James, He Has Not Been The Kyrie Irving That We Saw In A Cleveland Cavaliers Jersey.”

On the court, Kyrie Irving is close to unguardable. He can score in a multitude of ways and has the best handles of any basketball player ever.

Sadly, all the perks of Irving’s game also come with a lot of negatives, too. His antics in the political/cultural world, for example, have become a major distraction for the Brooklyn Nets. And in the aftermath of a season where he missed more than half of the games, Kyrie’s value as a star is at an all-time low.

Still, according to Perkins, Uncle Drew could be a real game-changer for a team like the Lakers. He played the best basketball in his career with LeBron James.

“The fact is since he’s left LeBron James, he has not been the Kyrie Irving that we’ve seen in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey,” Perkins said. “He played his most consistent, elite basketball alongside LeBron James.”

Perk also went in to say that James should give ahead and re-join his former teammate if he wants the best chance to win a title next season.

“If LeBron James is trying to win another championship, Kyrie Irving is the guy that he needs to pair along with Anthony Davis to deliver another title with the Lakers.”

No matter your opinion of James, Irving, and the old Cavaliers, it’s a stretch to call that era anything but a success.

Together, Bron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love dominated the competition and pulled off one of the most impressive comebacks in sports history.

A lot has changed in the years since. LeBron is older and not quite what he used to be. Kyrie’s scandals are starting to add up and his legacy has taken a hit.

But if those two manage to link up again, it could shake up the NBA’s balance of power for years to come.
