Lou Williams is one of the best 6th men in NBA history, winning many accolades thanks to his contributions coming off the bench, becoming one of the best role players the league has seen.

Even though he’s not in Los Angeles anymore, Lou keeps showing his value in the league with the Atlanta Hawks, helping the younger players however he can, while taking advantage of every opportunity he gets to play.

He’s been around for a while and recently made history with the Hawks. During Atlanta’s 130-109 win over the Orlando Magic, the point guard recorded his 985th game off the bench, breaking the previous record set by Dell Curry.

Williams now has the most games played off the bench in NBA history, reaching an incredible milestone for any role player. He’s done a lot during his career, winning the Sixth Man of the Year award on three different occasions, earning a lot of praise for his displays on the floor.

The 35-year-old veteran is now in a different situation with the Hawks, trying to help the team return to the Eastern Conference finals, but things haven’t gone in their favor this season. Lou and co. hope that the second half of the season is better for them, but seeing how things are going in the stacked East, that seems very unlikely.

Well, this league can surprise us when we least expect it, so keep an eye on Trae Young, Lou Williams, and the rest of the Hawks for the remainder of the season.

In 40 games, Williams averages 6.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game with the Hawks. He’s shooting 39.7% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc.
