After a playoff drought that lasted seven seasons, the New York Knicks made it to the postseason for the first time. The center of success that the franchise went through was none other than their star forward Julius Randle.
He burst into stardom and had a career season helping the Knicks in making the playoffs. At the time, it felt like the organization had finally found a player to make their team around and they added Kemba Walker to the mix.
Unfortunately, that duo didn’t only fail, but it seems like Randle’s time with the franchise is numbered. The two sides have failed to negotiate a contract extension and Randle has not even faced the media for the past few weeks.
This has led to many wondering if the Knicks will finally part ways with their potential star. However, the 1x All-Star wasn’t eligible to be traded until today. Thanks to a Reddit post by u/PokeGrandy, we became aware of the fact that Julius Randle has unfollowed the Knicks on Instagram.
It seems like the final nail in the coffin in the relationship between the two. But this begs the question: where can the Knicks trade him? Well, one option for them is to trade Randle to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Just like the Knicks, the Lakers are having an underwhelming season as their idea of a superteam is failing. The addition of Russell Westbrook has not worked out that well for the Lakers. Maybe the two sides will agree on this swap, but there is still too much uncertainty around it.
We will find out about it in the coming weeks. If there is any confirmation, it is the fact that Randle will soon get traded to some other team. Recently Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has always claimed that Randle is playing a lot more selfishly this season.
