• Nikola Jokic’s love for horses seems to trump his love for basketball

• Nuggets’ teammate Aaron Gordon decided to go to Serbia and see what the hype is all about

• He seemed to be having a blast, as he and Jokic’s horse won and were awarded a trophy

Moments after the Denver Nuggets clinched the 2023 NBA Championships, the team’s leader and Finals MVP Nikola Jokic expressed his excitement to go back home to Serbia and watch his horse race

Jokic’s horse hobby has puzzled many fans but it seems his teammates are taking an interest alongside the team leader. Aaron Gordon was spotted in Serbia alongside Jokic, watching the horses compete in a televised race.

It seems Jokic’s horse won the race, as the Serbian center and Gordon celebrated with a trophy in another picture that surfaced.

Jokic’s horse won a prestigious race in Serbia earlier in the offseason too. It’s a summer full of titles for the Nuggets boys, as Gordon gets to leave Serbia with some silverware before the start of training camp in September.

Gordon averaged 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in the 2023 Playoffs, while Jokic dominated and averaged 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists over the same period.

The Denver Nuggets Want To Build A Dynasty

The Nuggets have won the first championship in franchise history but are clearly ambitious enough to push for more success. Head coach Michael Malone wants the team to elevate itself into becoming a modern dynasty, though it will be easier said than done.

The team lost playoff contributors Bruce Brown and Jeff Green in the summer, not adequately replacing them through free-agent signings. However, they have a cast of young players like Christian Braun waiting for more opportunities.

Braun, Peyton Watson, and more will not only be coachable due to their youth but also allows the Nuggets to extend their window of success for more than just one season.
