2 Min Read

Big man Anthony Davis is one of the best defensive players in the league, and there’s no doubt that his rim protection is extremely important for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was spectacular on that end in Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors, tallying 3 steals and 4 blocks on the night.

After the game, Anthony Davis reacted to his elite defensive performance, noting that his goal was simply to protect the paint for the Lakers, noting that he didn’t do that in Game 2. (0:45)

“That’s been my M. O. for the whole playoffs, just protecting our paint. I didn’t do that in Game 2. Just getting back to it… I just want to come out to get back to the dominant performance I do defensively… Been one of the best defensive teams if not the best defensive since the break. It’s a tough team to guard, but we know that we can do it. “

There is no doubt that Anthony Davis had a monster night not only on defense but also on offense, scoring 25 points. It is clear that he is one of the best two-way players left in the playoffs, and the Lakers will need him to be consistently dominant to get past the Warriors.

In the playoffs, Anthony Davis has averaged 21.2 PPG, 13.9 RPG, and 4.1 BPG for the Los Angeles Lakers. His defense has been spectacular, and if his offense gets back to regular season levels, the Lakers will be an even more serious threat to win the championship.
