Center Anthony Davis is one of the best big men in the league when he’s healthy. He is a legitimate superstar-level player, that is capable of dominating on both ends of the floor.

In the Los Angeles Lakers’ most recent game, the team retired Pau Gasol’s jersey. It seems as though Anthony Davis was inspired, as he revealed he told Gasol that he wants his jersey to join Gasol’s in the rafters at some point in the future.

Anthony Davis said he told Pau Gasol he wants his No. 3 retired by the Lakers one day to join the likes of Gasol and all of the other legendary Lakers big men.

It will be interesting to see if Anthony Davis ends up getting his jersey retired by the Los Angeles Lakers. He has already won a championship with the franchise, and a jersey retirement would be a lock if he were to win another one in the future. Even now, Davis has a solid case to have his jersey retired, though obviously that would be contingent on him spending more seasons with the team.

Currently, Anthony Davis is averaging 26.5 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 2.1 BPG for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has definitely been an MVP-level player without LeBron James, and hopefully, he keeps up his elite performances going forward.

Anthony Davis Is Not Satisfied By Getting The 9th Seed

The Los Angeles Lakers recently beat the Memphis Grizzlies in a must-win game, securing the 9th seed in the Western Conference. However, it seems as though the team has higher goals in sight. Anthony Davis previously revealed that the team doesn’t want to “stop there”.

“We’re not satisfied. We don’t wanna stop there. We want to be greedy.”

It will be up to Anthony Davis to bring the Los Angeles Lakers to the playoffs this year. It was previously revealed that the Los Angeles Lakers are already preparing for LeBron James to miss the rest of the regular season, and it is clear that Davis will have to step up and carry the team on both ends of the floor. Avoiding the play-in tournament is a legitimate possibility, but obviously the Lakers will need to play well and have a bit of luck to do so.

Hopefully, we do see the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs this season. They definitely have the talent to do so after their mid-season moves, and we’ll see if they can string together some more wins and gain momentum before the end of the season and going into the play-in tournament.
