Bradley Beal hasn’t had the ideal start to his Suns career, struggling with injuries early and still finding consistency in the team’s offense. With over a month of consistent action under his belt, Beal has shown flashes of the electric scorer he used to be.
In his first game back in Washington against the Wizards, the team that drafted him and he played for 11 years, Beal dropped 43 points in a 140-112 win. He reacted to his explosion of form back in the arena he once called home.
“I know this gym a little bit. But for me, I haven’t shot it too well last few games. It was just good to be able to be in a good flow and good rhythm. What better place to do it than in your old home? I was just fortunate, man. My teammates were encouraging and uplifting, they wanted to get the win for me too. That was a big feeling. Once the ball was in the air, it was like a normal game. I enjoyed every moment, the process, and had fun.”

Beal is averaging 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists this season. While he is the third option on this team behind Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, his presence has made the Suns’ offense nearly unstoppable. He is far too good to be ignored offensively, forcing most teams to play one-on-one basketball against Phoenix.
Teams have to pay a lot of defensive attention to Beal, which further unlocks role-players like Grayson Allen to have a career-defining season playing off players like Beal and Booker. The team is 29-21 and solidifying themselves as a top-six team in the West after a torrid start to the season.
The Phoenix Suns Are Looking To Make More Trades
After extinguishing their war chest of assets in deals to acquire the likes of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Jusuf Nurkic, and Grayson Allen, the Suns seem tapped out when we look at possible major trades around the NBA. Outside the four aforementioned players and Devin Booker, the Suns only have one player not on a minimum contract right now (Nassir Little). They still have three unprotected second-round picks to dangle in trade talks as well.
The Suns have to target a player making around $6 to $8 million who can make an impact on their team while also being acquired for just one or two second-round picks. These assets would usually net you bottom-of-the-barrel rotational players, but the Suns are reportedly targeting Miles Bridges this winter.
Bridges spent a year out of the NBA due to a domestic violence scandal that many fans still hold against him. As a result, his trade value is much lower than what you’d expect for a 25-year-old player averaging 20.7 points and 7.4 rebounds. This is the only route for a noticeable upgrade in Phoenix.
Outside of that, their options are pretty thin. Thankfully, the roster as currently constructed has overcome a tough start to the season and has established itself among the playoff contenders in the West.
