Damian Lillard added another honor to his NBA career on Saturday night after he dominated the 3-Point Contest, beating Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield in the final round, securing 26 points, the same amount he got in the first round of the competition.

The Portland Trail Blazers star showed off his shooting skills once again, winning his first 3-Point Contest, sending NBA fans into a frenzy. The point guard rocked his Weber State jersey and never stopped until he won the competition, drawing a lot of praise from people around the league.

Lillard didn’t retire from the contest, as he aspires to compete one more time before calling it. Meanwhile, he responded to different questions about his shooting skills and how they compare to other all-time great shooters.

Damian Lillard Believes He Ranks Only Behind Stephen Curry On The Greatest Shooter Of All Time List

Dame was asked to rank himself among the greatest shooter of all time, and he was very honest, putting himself second of all time, right behind the undisputed greatest shooter ever, Stephen Curry.

“After Steph…we all know who and what Steph is as a shooter, definitely. But after that, I’m right in the mix with whoever else comes after that.”

Curry congratulated Lillard after his win, even joking about Dame retiring right after winning the competition. These two have given fans a lot of memorable moments over the years, and they’ve shown their range over and over again, making incredibly long shots that have marked big moments in recent history.

Dame has a pretty solid case for becoming the second-greatest shooter of all time, an unofficial title that has Klay Thompson, Ray Allen, and others as pretty good candidates. This isn’t the first time he’s made these claims, as he seems pretty confident in his chances. Lillard is working his way to that position, and perhaps when all is said and done, he’ll be right up there with the likes of Steph, Klay, Ray, and others.
