What can be said about Dennis Rodman that hasn’t already been said? The NBA’s greatest ever rebounder, according to a lot of really decorated players, Rodman was the embodiment of hustle and effort on the court. He had supreme skill too, a nose for the ball as it came off the glass, which is what allowed him to be an important part of 5 championship teams.

But early in his career, Rodman was still not the star that most remember him as. The Bad Boy Pistons had a lot of players that were more prominent than him, and it was only after his San Antonio stint when he eventually arrived in Chicago did he come into his own. Rodman was unapologetically himself at a time when self-expression still wasn’t very common for athletes, and it made him unique.

However, this is not to say that Rodman was running a crusade or trying to talk people into expressing themselves. He was simply being himself, and that means he would do whatever he liked as much as he could. This included insane parties during his tenure with the Bulls that Michael Jordan reportedly went to fetch him from. And his general lifestyle was one that is hard to imagine an elite athlete having

Dennis Rodman Shed Light On How Often He Would Visit Las Vegas During The NBA Season

A lot of NBA players party, and why shouldn’t they? Young men in the prime of their lives with access to wealth and fame, it stands to reason that they would have a good time. But while most would save their carousing for the offseason, Rodman would be gone during, and sometimes even around playoff time. He spoke about it in a clip from an interview that recently went viral.

Interviewer: “How many times did you go to Vegas like midseason, or like playoffs?”

Dennis Rodman: “Nah, nah, listen. I’d probably go like maybe 20, 25 times. Cuz we have a day off, we had a plane, I’d just go to Vegas and come back the next night.”

Interviewer: “Who was your crew? Who did you roll with?”

Dennis Rodman: “Just some people, you know, my bodyguards, couple girls and we’d just go have a good time for 24 hours and come back.”

It’s insane to think how Dennis Rodman was living when he was making huge waves with the Chicago Bulls. He was probably one of the most popular men in America at the time, and he made sure to enjoy as much of it as he could. There have been players that lived on their own terms and enjoyed partying since he retired, but there can never be another Dennis Rodman.
