Desmond Bane has one of the more unique body types in the NBA, with an incredibly small wingspan that has often been mocked on social media.

His small wingspan gives him the control he needs with his shooting motion, so he is definitely used to the jokes by now. After watching a video of someone adding five inches to their height through surgery, he joked about getting the same for his wingspan.

“Need this for tha wingspan.”

Bane averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season and has firmly established himself as the second offensive option on the Grizzlies behind Ja Morant. He was a 40.9% shooter from three-point range, and he did so on a whopping 7.0 attempts per game. He’s one of the premier shooting guards in the NBA and will be a huge reason behind any success Memphis ends up having.

Will Desmond Bane Remain On The Grizzlies?

After the acrimonious announcement that Dillon Brooks would not be re-signed, fans wondered which Memphis players could face similar treatment after their disastrous season. Bane, alongside Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr., seems to be a part of the long-term future of this franchise, so he is definitely safe for now.

Bane postponed toe surgery for most of the season to try and be available for his squad. He also showed up at the end of their playoff loss to the Lakers, averaging 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists over those six games.

Even though Bane may have been one of the players on the Grizz to excessively talk trash about his opponents, he’s one of the few that has consistently backed up his words with his play on the court.
