Shooting guard Klay Thompson was a key member of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, and there’s no doubt that he will be a Hall of Famer in the future. Despite his talent, he has struggled in the Warriors’ series against the Los Angeles Lakers thus far.

Throughout his career, Klay Thompson has made a reputation for showing up in any given Game 6 of a playoff series. The Warriors will definitely need him to score well, and hopefully, Thompson rises up to the challenge. A lot of fans have recently been debating about whether Klay Thompson would show up against the Lakers in their upcoming game, with one fan stating that it’s not going to happen.

Other fans were more optimistic about Klay Thompson potentially showing up.

Some claimed that “Game 6 Klay” isn’t a real phenomenon:

There is no question that opinions are split about this subject. Though Klay Thompson has had some big Game 6 performances, there have also been some contests where he simply didn’t show up. We will have to wait to see how he ends up doing.

In the playoffs, Klay Thompson has averaged 19.4 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 2.0 APG for the Golden State Warriors this season. He has been solid, but the team will need him to do even better to beat the Los Angeles Lakers.

Steve Kerr Has Defended Klay Thompson For Taking Bad Shots

Though Klay Thompson is clearly a good player, one of his major weaknesses is his shot selection. However, Steve Kerr recently defended Thompson’s shot selection, noting that the “aggressiveness” and “confidence” outweigh the negatives that come with it.

“[Thompson’s] going to take some bad ones, and so is Steph [Curry], and that’s OK,” Kerr said.” “Ideally, you want guys taking good shots every time down the floor, but when Klay had 38 in Oklahoma City in Game 6, a lot of those were really bad shots and [he] made them, and that’s the only reason we won. What you get from Klay is the swash-buckling attitude, that aggressiveness, the confidence, and part of that package is some bad shots. And hey, you live with that.”

At the end of the day, Klay Thompson’s play style has made him a four-time NBA champion. Hopefully, it continues working for him, and we’ll see if he can help his team win another championship this year.
