Devin Booker is widely viewed as the best player on the Phoenix Suns due to his offensive prowess. He is a three-level scorer who is proficient at getting buckets from all over the court, and he is a solid secondary playmaker for the team behind Chris Paul. Currently, Devin Booker is putting up 25.9 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 4.9 APG while shooting 37.6% from beyond the arc.

The Phoenix Suns have been the best team in the entire league, and Devin Booker has been their best player. That would suggest that he should be in the MVP conversation. Pistons legend Isiah Thomas recently alluded to that, claiming that Devin Booker should be in the MVP conversation because he fits the criteria, as he’s the leading scorer for the Phoenix Suns.

Devin Booker has recently responded to Isiah Thomas’ praise, claiming that he appreciates it. However, Booker also threw some shade at the MVP voting process, claiming that the “criteria” changes depending on the “player’s name”, obviously suggesting that not every player is treated the same.

Devin Booker definitely has a case to be an MVP candidate. Without his scoring, the Phoenix Suns wouldn’t be as good as they are, and he has also been playing well without co-star Chris Paul.

Even though Devin Booker has a deserving case, there are definitely other players who also have great numbers and are on winning teams, such as Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.

It is unlikely that Devin Booker will win this year’s MVP award, even if he’s receiving support from prominent names in his campaign. With that being said, he has a great chance to win a championship with the Phoenix Suns. They were unable to get the job done last year in the Finals, so they will want to avenge that loss this year: Booker will be key to doing so.
