Rudy Gobert may have caused a massive dent in the Timberwolves’ playoff hopes after his punch on Kyle Anderson last night caused him to be suspended for one game.
Draymond Green was quick to attack Gobert with something Gobert had said about him when Dray punched Jordan Poole. He went into further detail on his podcast, revealing what people in the NBA think of the French center.
“There are some words that as a man you just don’t say to me. The choice word that is the bi**h word, Kyle Anderson used it towards Rudy Gobert. You have to be ready for what comes with that. You’re not just allowed to disrespect guys and say what you want to say. Kyle Anderson uttered words to Rudy Gobert that a lot of people think. I personally think Rudy Gobert is on the softer side myself but he gained a little respect from me. He stood up for himself, I have never seen the guy stand up for himself.”

Gobert has been called soft by many notable voices in the NBA before. If he was soft, he definitely wouldn’t have gotten into the fight with Anderson. Green seemingly respected Gobert for standing up for himself, but it’s hard to reconcile with his actions, given the impact it will have on the team.
A Playoff Disaster For The Wolves
The last day of the regular season might have ended with a win for the Timberwolves over the Pelicans in a game that secured the 8th seed for them, but it was still a disaster. Rudy Gobert punching Kyle Anderson and now being suspended for their game against the Lakers is going to hurt immensely, especially with the presence of Anthony Davis.
Jaden McDaniels ended up breaking his hand after punching a wall out of frustration, meaning the Wolves also lost the player who would’ve guarded LeBron James in the matchup. The Wolves will likely un-suspend Gobert if they lose to LA and have to play the 8th-seed matchup with the winner of the Thunder and Pelicans.
The Wolves will ensure their playoff dreams don’t end in the play-in tournament, but beating the Lakers without Gobert and McDaniels may be extremely challenging.
