The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 7-8 matchup of the play-in tournament, with the winner going on to face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.

Minnesota is dealing with internal strife, as Rudy Gobert punched Kyle Anderson and has now been suspended for the game against LA. Lakers coach Darvin Ham declined to comment on the situation as it wasn’t Lakers’ business.

“It’s not Laker business. It’s an unfortunate situation but I really don’t have an opinion on it. We are focused on trying to be the best versions of ourselves, not worrying about who’s playing tomorrow. How we play and put our best foot forward.”

The odds of the Lakers winning have improved drastically based on everything that’s happening with the Wolves’ chemistry and player availability. There’s no point in minimizing the threat the remained of the team poses in a press conference, as the Lakers could fall to a shock loss at the hands of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Lakers Ready For Their Playoff Run

The Lakers and all their fans will be praying that the team makes it out of the play-in and into the playoffs. Even if they’re upset by the Wolves, they will fancy their chances of beating the winner of the Pelicans vs. Thunder 9-10 play-in game to secure the 8th seed.

Facing Memphis will be a massive challenge, but the Lakers do have the weapons to beat them in a 7-game series. The same goes for their possible matchup with the Denver Nuggets, but LA will hope to face the Grizzlies. If they get past the Grizz, they have to beat the winner of the Kings and Warriors to make the Conference Finals.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have combined for a championship before, and they’ll hope their talents can allow them to at least compete for one this season.
