The Miami Heat are on the brink of creating history for all the wrong reasons in the Eastern Conference Finals.

A devastating 104-103 loss at the buzzer in Game 6 has seen the Boston Celtics level up the series at 3-3 after being down 3-0. The Heat are reeling now but head coach Erik Spoelstra guarantees that his team will win Game 7.

“It’s just a shame but look this is the way this season’s been,” Spoelstra said. “This is one hell of a series. At this time right now, I don’t know how we’re going to get this done, but we’re going to go up there and get it done.”

That is the mindset you need to have but you wonder just how confident the Heat would be deep down. Jimmy Butler had guaranteed they would win this game, only for them to fall short in the most agonizing way possible. To come so close to victory by leading 103-102 with three seconds remaining and then have it snatched from you at the buzzer would be a brutal blow.

The Celtics Have All The Momentum Heading Into Game 7

Prior to this series, only three times had a team forced a Game 7 after being down 3-0 and the Celtics will look to do what those three couldn’t, which is win that game. The one advantage they have is that, unlike those three teams, they get to play at home and they would back themselves to get the win in Boston.

The Celtics kept shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers in this game and need to make sure that doesn’t happen in Game 7. The turnovers and the offensive rebounds they allowed were a big reason why this game was even somewhat close as the Heat didn’t shoot the ball well at all. If the Celtics can just play a clean game, they should win Game 7 and this series.
