The Boston Celtics looked in complete control of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals when they led 100-91 with just over 3 minutes remaining, only for the Miami Heat to roar back in style.

Three clutch free throws from Jimmy Butler saw the Heat take a 103-102 lead with two seconds remaining and they had one foot in the NBA Finals at that point. Marcus Smart then missed a three-pointer but Derrick White just about managed to lay the ball in on the putback for a buzzer-beater as the Celtics won 104-103. NBA fans reacted to this insane finish as the series now heads to a Game 7.

One fan said this was one of the best games he’s ever seen.

A fan believes this series is now over as the Celtics will win Game 7.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray praised Derrick White for the clutch play.

A fan blasted Jimmy Butler for his poor showings after Game 2 that has allowed the Celtics to come back in this series.

You do wonder how on earth the Heat can come back from this gut-wrenching defeat. They had the game in the bag after a stunning turnaround late in the fourth but failed to get the rebound on the most important possession of the contest.

The Heat Will Rue Their Missed Chances In Game 6

The Heat seemed doomed for much of this game as Butler was terrible through three quarters with just 9 points. He then came alive in the fourth and finished with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists on the night but it wasn’t enough. To go with allowing that White tip-in at the buzzer, the Heat will also look back at two wide-open threes that Duncan Robinson missed late in the game as missed opportunities. If those shots had gone in, the Heat would have, in likelihood, been crowned as Eastern Conference champions tonight.

For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum had 25 points in the first half but cooled down the rest of the way to finish with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. He just couldn’t get going in the second half but White came to his rescue. The Celtics are now heavy favorites to get back to the Finals and become the first team to ever come back from down 3-0.
