With the Boston Celtics threatening to pull off a comeback from down 3-0, the Miami Heat sure would love to have Tyler Herro back on the court. Herro has been on the sidelines since he broke two fingers on his shooting hand in the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks and the Heat have missed his offense in these last few games.

Stan Van Gundy though hilariously said the No. 1 reason the Heat need Herro back is because of his terrible attire while sitting on the bench. Herro took a shot at Van Gundy on Instagram as he didn’t like the joke and the former head coach fired back at the Heat guard.

“Some guys get real sensitive,” Van Gundy said. “Some of us can laugh at ourselves. Guys have gotten a little soft in this generation now.”

It was just a harmless joke and Herro does across as really sensitive for taking a shot at Van Gundy’s coaching for it. For what it’s worth, Van Gundy had a solid 554-425 record as a head coach and he led the Orlando Magic to the NBA Finals in 2009. He may not have been a great head coach but he certainly wasn’t a bad one by any means.

The Heat Need Tyler Herro Back As Soon As Possible

In Herro’s absence, Jimmy Butler took an even bigger load on offense and that heavy workload seems to be taking a toll on him as he has slowed down a bit as these Conference Finals have gone on. Herro averaged 20.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 4.2 APG in the regular season and was one of the biggest positives for them on offense.

Even if they advance past the Celtics, the Heat need him in the NBA Finals against an explosive Denver Nuggets offense. They have done a great job to get this far without him but his absence is really being felt now.
