As the Miami Heat look to avoid a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals, Tyler Herro is anxiously awaiting his return to the court. If the Heat make the Finals, he’s expected to return at some point in the series. Until then, however, Herro’s only battles will be online as he tries to silence the doubters.

On his social media recently, Herro addressed former head coach Stan Van Gundy after he called him out publicly during the broadcast.

“You know the No. 1 reason the Heat need Tyler Herro back? Because his fashion is so bad on the bench. We need him in uniform.”

In the Instagram message, which featured the quote from SVG Herro didn’t hold back with his response.

Stan wasn’t a bad coach by any means, but he could not find his footing in the NBA after a few stints across different teams. But when you come at a player like Herro, the past is going to catch up with you and he found that out the hard way.

As for Tyler, Heat fans are hoping to see less of him on IG and more of him on the court, but he’s still working his way back to form from his playoff injury.

Will Herro Return To Heat This Season?

Herro fractured his finger in the first round against the Bucks, and the original timeline for his return was roughly 4-6 weeks. At the time, nobody imagined he’d return to play this season, but Miami’s unexpected run has made his comeback a real possibility.

Of course, considering their recent success, some experts are saying the Heat might be better off without him…

“I’ve heard from a number of executives around the league saying, ‘I don’t think the Heat miss Tyler Herro as much as people thought they were going to miss Tyler Herro.’ I think the longer they advance, he’s gonna recede from memory as like, what a big deal his injury apparently was and is,” said an NBA executive, via the Lowe Post.

It will be interesting to see how Herro responds to all these narratives when he finally does return, the only question is what he’ll have left in the tank when he comes back.
