Joel Embiid is engaged in a big battle against the Brooklyn Nets in Game 1 of their first-round playoffs series. The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be on their way to a win, but Embiid hasn’t been free of controversy.

As he drove to the basket, Embiid was softly touched in the face by the defender, but he tried to sell it as a bigger play than it actually was.

While some people tried to make it look like a flagrant foul, many fans reacted to this play, calling out Embiid for flopping.

Some said it was just a regular foul.

Even Damian Lillard laughed about it.

Now, the Sixers are about to take Game 1, but everything can happen now. James Harden is doing a terrific job, just like Embiid, showing the way to their team. They haven’t tried that hard and the game has been easy, but everything can change next.

Joel Embiid Complains About Treatment He’s Received While Being An MVP Candidate

Speaking of the treatment he’s received around the league, Joel Embiid recently called out the people who feel sorry for Nikola Jokic while he always received a lot of bad comments, even when he was down.

“I keep saying I don’t care. If I win, great. If I don’t, it’s whatever,” Embiid told Andscape. “Being in the running the last three years has been cool. I’ve seen it all. It is funny. A lot has been said, and a lot of people haven’t been happy about how the whole thing has been going on, about how people keep bashing each other and all that stuff. Where was all that [sympathy for me]? People kept bashing me the last two seasons, putting me down. But now other guys are being put down, now it’s an issue.”

Joel has taken this MVP race very seriously, and he won’t rest until he puts his hands on the coveted award. It looks like he’s set to win his first MVP award, but the competition will be hard until the last minute.
