The NBA MVP award is one of the most coveted and controversial prizes in major American sports. This season, the competition for it has been fierce, and the controversy will be here as soon as the league announces this year’s recipient.

For one NBA legend, Rick Barry, the league should change the way they give the MVP, making it one per conference instead of one for the entire league.

“It is insane that they don’t have an MVP for the western conference and an MVP for the eastern conference.”

This is an interesting idea from Barry, who always has strong opinions on NBA-related matters. From calling out players for making big fouls and getting away with them to defending LeBron James and even Ben Simmons, Barry has made big statements over the years.

The Warriors legend is once again offering an interesting idea to the association. The MVP race has been great this season, with many fans saying Joel Embiid or Nikola Jokic are the rightful winners.

The finalists for every major award were revealed on Friday, and now we are waiting to see who is going to take home all these trophies.

In other leagues, like the NFL, they have only one MVP for the season. The MLB does have one per league, one for the American and one for the National. It could be interesting to see how the association manages this option, but it doesn’t seem like they will change anything about the MVP soon.

Joel Embiid Keeps Making A Case For The MVP Award

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid keeps making a case for himself as the MVP winner, making it clear that he cares about it, and even taking some shots at Nikola Jokic for downplaying this race. The Cameroonian-born center is considered the favorite to win the award, but we have to sit and wait for what voters decide.
