The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a gritty win on a night where they did not look solid over the Minnesota Timberwolves in OT to clinch the 7th seed.

The game ended 102-108 and was sent to OT because of a bad foul by Anthony Davis. Laker fans don’t care and are ready to return to the playoffs after missing out last season.

This was a stressful win and fans shared how tough it was to make it through the affair.

Fans had jokes about AD’s 3-point foul to send the game to OT.

The game was quite ugly at times, and fans were quick o point that out.

A joke about Adam Silver talking to the officials was bound to happen after the controversial foul calls in the second half.

Bill Simmons also mentioned the foul disparity.

One fan shared his unbridled joy with the win.

LeBron James led the Lakers in scoring with 30 points along with Anthony Davis who had 24 and Dennis Schroder who had 21. The Wolves were led by Karl-Anthony Towns scoring 24 points and Mike Conley chipping in 23 with 6 made three-pointers. Anthony Edwards struggled mightily, shooting 3-17 in a 9-point outing. The Wolves were without Rudy Gobert, who was suspended for punching Kyle Anderson.

The refereeing from the game has been questioned by many, but the way the Wolves fell apart offensively down the stretch couldn’t have been controlled by the refs. The Lakers didn’t look nearly as good as they had towards the end of the regular season, so they’ll be hoping to find their groove after a few days of rest when they face the Grizzlies.

A Playoff Push Becomes Reality

The Lakers have become the first team to make the playoffs after starting the season 0-5 or 2-10, an incredible feat for the franchise. Facing the Grizzlies will not be easy but the new-look Lakers will hope to use their playoff experience to get past the still-young Grizzlies squad that has been beaten by LA in the regular season.

The Wolves will feel unfortunate to lose this game. They will await the winner of the game between the OKC Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans to decide which teams can face the Denver Nuggets as the 8th seed in the first round.
