Austin Reaves has taken the next step this season, he has been incredibly effective for the Los Angeles Lakers as they have turned their season around. In 13 games to end the regular season, Reaves averaged 19.8 points per game, shooting 56% from the field and 40% from three-point range.
He was also massive for the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies, putting up 23 points, more than LeBron James and Anthony Davis. And he got most of those points in the 4th quarter, too, an excellent display. As such, he has earned some apologies from his critics.
“Yeah, I would like to say I’m sorry for the slander due to my narrow-mindedness of Westbrook,” Gilbert Arenas said when asked if he had anything to say to Reaves. “But I’m gonna say this, if Westbrook says, ‘Hey I heard you like Austin Reaves,’ I’m going to say, ‘No I don’t.’ Alright just letting you know I’m Westbrook first, Austin Reaves second.
“Nah, I apologize,” Brandon Jennings added. “I’m sorry. You nice, you a dog. I got some tough crowd for you, you a dog, I respect it. Yeah, man. Come out with me, I’m in LA.”
Austin Reaves apology needs to be as loud as the slander 😂

Austin Reaves has been getting a lot of hype, and some feel it’s not deserved. Some have said he doesn’t deserve the praise and plaudits coming his way, but Reaves has been steadily putting up excellent performances and proving them wrong. And he might be on his way to a serious contract.
Austin Reaves Could Reportedly Get A 4-Year $99 Million Contract
Austin Reaves has been enjoying life quite a bit recently, he has a signature shoe set to come out in the summer. LeBron James believes in him, he even said that he knew from their first practice together that Reaves wouldn’t be a two-way player for too long. And as a free agent this summer, there are reports that he could get a nearly $100 million contract.
“I think Austin Reaves is worth the Gilbert Arenas max… About 4-year, $99M.”
If he wants to ensure he gets the bag, he will have to continue playing the way he has in Game 1. An explosive playoff run would raise his value even further. If he keeps on going the way he has, the apologies from those that doubted him will only get louder in the coming years.
