Jordan Poole and Draymond Green’s relationship suffered a major blow (no pun intended) before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season. Green viciously knocked Poole out with a big right hand, changing everything within the Warriors organization.

After the season finished for the Dubs, everybody remembered this moment, with some putting the blame on it for the tumultuous campaign. Poole recently talked about his relationship with Green, giving a cold response.

“I don’t have no answer for you,” Poole told Logan Murdock of The Ringer. “Other than that, we was just on the court and teammates, and we was out there trying to win games.

“What I do recall saying at the beginning of the season is that, ‘We’re coming. We’re going to come out here. We’re going to play on the court. We’re going to try to win a championship.’ We were teammates. It’s just business, honestly. And that’s really all it was, it is, it has been. It’s just been business. It’s been basketball.”

During the season, Green revealed he was trying to return to the point he was with Poole before the infamous incident. However, things haven’t worked for them, and even during the playoffs, Poole was seen rejecting Green’s handshake

This situation played a big role in the Warriors’ tumultuous season, even if they don’t want to admit to it. Now, they have many questions to answer after their second-round elimination and both Poole and Green could be out of the team this summer.

Jordan Poole Explained How The Draymond Green Punched Affected Him And Warriors

Poole has been very vocal about how this punch changed everything for him and the Warriors, admitting that it took a lot of maturity from him to move on and keep working with Green every day.

Still, it never looked like Poole was completely comfortable on the court, and his performances this season were terrible compared to 2021-22. Some say this might be the end of his tenure with the Warriors, but only time will tell what the front office decides.
