Stephen Curry has proven without a shadow of a doubt that no shooter in the NBA at any point in time is better than him. Not only does Curry sit atop the 3-point list in both the regular season and the playoffs, but Curry scores with efficiency from the area we don’t see others replicate.

Many people have said that Curry’s success is tied to the era he’s playing in, as the court is way more spaced out and the game is less physical than what it was in the ’90s.

Fans debate over eras all the time but Stephen A. Smith revealed that Detroit Pistons; legend Isiah Thomas once told him that Curry wouldn’t be the shooter he is today if he was in playing in Zeke’s era.

“I believe that Steph Curry is the greatest shooter God ever created. I don’t think that’s an argument. But let me share a conversation with you that I had with Isiah Thomas. Isiah Thomas said to me that if he was playing in our era he would not have averaged more than 18 points a game. The rules would have allowed them to rest on his shoulder and to be physical with him in such a way that he wouldn’t have been able to get the shot off. The rules would have allowed that when he came through the paint we were going to make him feel us and he wasn’t going to be in any condition to run around as much.”

Game-changing players change the game whenever they touch the court. Stephen Curry might have laid the groundwork for the future of the NBA much earlier if a shooter of his caliber played in the ’80s and ’90s.

Is Stephen Curry’s Championship Window Closing?

What Curry would have done in a different era is immaterial as we’ve seen him achieve more than anyone not named LeBron James in this era. His 4 rings and multiple MVPs show he was a generational player regardless of the era he played in. That window of success might be closing soon with the lack of success his Golden State Warriors have had this season.

The Warriors are struggling to keep pace in the top-6 race in the West and keep falling into the play-ins. With Curry out for the next month, everyone’s worried about what will happen to the squad. Klay Thompson hit 12 3s to help them win their last game but can he repeat that until Curry’s back? Unlikely.

Hopefully, the Warriors can remain above .500 by the time Curry comes back so they can make a genuine late-season push for the title and shock the entire world once again.
