The Oklahoma City Thunder have shocked the NBA world this season, taking their game to the next level, and becoming a play-in team. This young team appeared to be heading to another disappointing season, but they proved doubters wrong.

After they clinched a play-in spot, Jalen Williams shared a hilarious video to celebrate this feat.

Using that infamous video of Patrick Beverley crying after making the 2022 NBA playoffs, Williams celebrated his team’s good season. The job is not done, as they aspire to make it to the postseason, but they are play-in bound after Friday night.

The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Chicago Bulls 115-112 in a game that had cloudy decisions from the team. This result gave the advantage to the Thunder in case they were tied with the Mavs.

Now, they’re ironically going against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament, trying to live another day and get the chance to make it to the postseason.

Williams has been great this season, averaging 14.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 75 matches this campaign. He’s one of those young players that have taken the Thunder to the next level and have played a role in their good campaign.

Oklahoma City Are No Longer Rebuilding

After several years of trying to build a competitive team, the Thunder are really close to that. Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, this team has a bright future ahead. Other players like Luguentz Dort and Josh Giddey have been important for the team’s success too.

They didn’t have Chet Holmgren on the roster this season, and he could be a great addition to the team next year. OKC knows they are one of the teams of the future and they’re already demonstrating that.

This team is ready to make a lot of noise in the league, and they could start as soon as this season. However, it seems like their lack of experience won’t be enough against the Timberwolves.
