Patrick Beverley Overcome With Emotions As Tears Flow After Minnesota Timberwolves Clinch Playoff Spot

Patrick Beverley just won the NBA Finals. Oh wait, it was actually the 7-8 play-in tournament game, but his celebration was unlike another. We are not knocking Beverley, as this Timberwolves team has overcome a lot of doubt cast over them all season long to solidify their position in the NBA playoffs.

But Patrick Beverley is going to be in the center for a lot of chatter that will surround this game. He played with his usual aggressive tendencies, with a lot of showboating as well. However, he was playing his role extremely well on both ends of the floor. Despite troubles with Karl-Anthony Towns fouling out amidst a horrible performance, the Wolves made it through with performances from Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell.

Beverley was the on-camera star after the game, as he jumped up on the announcers' table and threw his jersey into the crowd. Since then, videos of Beverley openly crying at the achievement have come out.

Many fans are mocking Beverley for his celebration, but many also do believe it is warranted. Beverley has made a career out of being counted out. His departure from the Clippers was painful by his own admission, and the Wolves were not expected to make it to the playoffs this season. However, they have fought very hard to get to where they are.

People are upset at them celebrating like it's a championship, ut it is the first bit of real winning they have done in a very long time. Their story isn't likely going to end as NBA Champions, so they can celebrate their incremental progress however they want to.

Beverley has been on bigger stages before, but a win over his former team that got rid of him has to mean a lot more than those previous runs. His emotions are his emotions, and he is not afraid to show them in front of the world.
