Patrick Beverley has found a new home in the NBA, now with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Beverley was traded from the Clippers to the Memphis Grizzlies, who then traded him to the Timberwolves. After years of being the defensive enforcer for the LA Clippers, Beverley is now on a team that doesn’t have the championship aspirations the Clippers did.
And Beverley feels that he has had more of a spotlight on the work he does recently because of being on a smaller team. In a post-game conference, Beverley said that he felt overlooked with the Clippers, especially because of the superstars on the team like Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. He feels that his hard work goes underappreciated.
"[What I do] is kind of overlooked. Especially when you have people like Kawhi & PG, who take a lot of credit for everything, but it's always when I go to the other team, that's when you see my work & how the team is now. What I do is very underappreciated."

Beverley has been described as a workhorse, who does the dirty work for the team and keeps the defense in check during a game. He has a tendency to also get under certain players’ skins, and mess with them during games. Recently, he wouldn’t let go of LeBron James’ hand after he made a basket to get under his skin.
During his stint with the Clippers, Beverley was not considered as important to the team as players like Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Given that both George and Leonard are better offensive players and better defensive players, it was only natural that Beverley would be overlooked when compared to them.
Beverley has become more important for the Timberwolves, primarily because their defense was way worse before he joined the team. And while he hasn’t transformed them overnight, he has made them a slightly better defensive unit.
