Spencer Dinwiddie has sent a big message to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Brooklyn Nets’ first rivals in the 2023 NBA playoffs.

Ahead of their big playoffs series, the former Dallas Mavericks guard made it clear they are a better team than four years ago.

“We’re more established,” Dinwiddie said. “That was a young team trying to find their way. We have a lot of guys who understand who we are in the NBA already. We’re trying to find our way as a unit. That one was more so we had a lot of guys trying to find their way as individuals in the league. Now we had great vibes, a bunch of great character guys. It wasn’t selfishness, but we still just kinda were wide-eyed and didn’t necessarily know.”

“You got guys on this team who went to the Finals, Conference Finals, things of that nature, have experience, and have an appropriate respect for Philly obviously, but there’s no like fear or anything,” the Nets guard continued.

It’s been four years since they last clashed in the postseason. These teams engaged in some sort of rivalry during the 2018-19 playoffs, with Ben Simmons (who is now on the Nets, shut down for the season) going against Jared Dudley and trolling the young Nets team.

Dinwiddie, alongside Joe Harris, is one of the players who played in that series. He knows the challenge is big, but the Nets aren’t scared of anybody.

Brooklyn Nets Secure 6th Seed Despite Trading Kevin Durant And Kyrie Irving Mid-Season

This season ended up being a decent one for the Nets, who went through big changes all year long. First, they parted ways with Steve Nash, then they traded both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving ahead of the deadline. Things have gone better after these two moves, and the Nets were playing great basketball

The Sixers finish the season as one of the hottest teams in the East, and whoever wants to beat them will have to try hard. This has everything to be an entertaining series, but it doesn’t seem like the Nets can actually beat Joel Embiid and co.
