The Dallas Mavericks can find themselves in trouble really soon after making some drastic roster decisions.
The NBA has announced that they’re launching an investigation into the team’s decisions before Friday’s night game against the Chicago Bulls.

NBA spokesperson Mike Bass has announced that the moves made by the Mavericks will be investigated. Normally, when the league announces these investigations, it doesn’t end well for the teams involved.
Ahead of their duel against the Chicago Bulls, they announced that Kyrie Irving wouldn’t play. Then, they said that Luka Doncic would sit out after the first quarter of the game. This obviously raised some eyebrows around the league, and the front office is now investigating this situation.
Jason Kidd seemingly admitted that the team’s owner and manager wanted to lose that game, and the league might have taken note of that.
NBA Fans Blast Dallas Mavericks For Resting Their Two Stars In Crucial Game
Not only the NBA seems to be concerned with this situation, as fans blasted the Mavericks as soon as they learned of their decisions for the Bulls game. The Texans decided to tank out of the blue and everybody started criticizing them for that.
Their record since landing Kyrie Irving is terrible, going 9-17 since they traded for the former Brooklyn Nets point guard. The Irving-Doncic experiment hasn’t worked as expected and the Mavs are looking for solutions now.
Their head coach claimed that a lot of people won’t return next season, as they try to build the best team to compete for a championship. It remains to be seen what the league finds in this investigation and if it’s severe enough to give them a big punishment.
