Forward Jayson Tatum is widely considered to be a superstar, and many view him as the best player on the Boston Celtics. He showed why he is elite, having a 16-point fourth quarter against the 76ers.

After the game, Jayson Tatum called himself one of the best players in the world but also praised his teammates for helping keep the team in the game while he struggled in the first three quarters.

“Humbly, I’m one of the best basketball players in the world. Go through struggles go through slumps. Thankfully I got some great teammates to hold it down, Brogdon, JB, Smart, Al… They all trusted me… All that matters was we won this game, give ourselves another chance come back home for Game 7.”

Jayson Tatum finished with 19 points on 5-21 shooting, but it is clear that the Celtics team trusted him enough in the fourth quarter to let him try and close the game out. There is no doubt that he is a big-time player, and his game is made for the biggest moments.

In the playoffs, Jayson Tatum is averaging 26.3 PPG, 10.4 RPG, and 5.2 APG for the Boston Celtics. He has impacted every area of the game for his team, and it is easy to see why he and Celtics fans both believe he is one of the best players in the league.

Kendrick Perkins Previously Claimed Jayson Tatum Is On The Same Level As Giannis Antetokounmpo

A lot of people rank Jayson Tatum very highly as a player, and one of those people is former Celtic Kendrick Perkins. In fact, he previously revealed that he believes Tatum is on the same level as two-way superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“I believe Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the world,” Perkins said on ESPN’s First Take. “But it’s not by far. You have multiple guys that are sitting at the same dinner table ordering the same entrées as Giannis, and Jayson Tatum is one of them.”

Going into the postseason, many considered Giannis Antetokounmpo, the best player in the world. Jayson Tatum is showing that he can play at a similar level, but he needs to be more consistent overall if he truly wants to be the best. Ultimately, the goal is to win a championship as well, and the Celtics have a good chance of doing that this year.
