Jayson Tatum ended up being responsible for putting Boston Celtics on the brink of elimination in Game 6 but was also the one to get them out of that situation.

Tatum had 19 points in Game 6, with 16 coming in a sensational fourth-quarter performance. Before that, Tatum had just 3 points in the game and was shooting 1-13 on the game. Despite that, he proclaimed himself as one of the best players in the world after the win. Fans were not feeling Tatum after his inconsistent showing.

His performance through the first three quarters could not be ignored by fans.

His calling himself humble also irked fans.

One fan said Tatum isn’t even top 10, a day after the Celtics forward was named to the All-NBA First Team.

Another fan said even JT knows he isn’t consistent enough to hold that crown.

Fans joked by saying he’s the best at being carried by Malcolm Brogdon.

Another fan called Jaylen Brown better than him.

Tatum had one point at the half with no field goals made, so making this claim after that performance wasn’t going to fly.

Tatum has achieved enough to keep himself in the conversation with the best in the world but that title is definitely not his. We have seen far better and more consistent playoff performers this season and it’s foolhardy to claim he’s surpassed them because he had a 16-point quarter after one of the worst playoff games by a superstar this season.

Can The Celtics Clinch Game 7?

The Philadelphia 76ers let the Celtics win a game where their star was misfiring because they had no answers for the C’s defense. If Boston played defense the same way their offense was going, we could have seen a blowout win for the 76ers. Instead, we are heading to Game 7 where the 76ers are at a disadvantage.

Jayson Tatum will be eager not to repeat this performance, so it’ll be an exciting battle between these rivals in that game. He has averaged 26.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists through 12 playoff games this season.
