Joel Embiid has become one of the top players in the NBA over the last few years. One of Embiid’s biggest qualities as a player is his scoring ability.

Embiid has secured the second NBA scoring title of his career even though he sat out the final two games of the season. Speaking of which, Embiid has become the first center since Bob McAdoo to clinch back-to-back scoring titles in the league.

McAdoo won three consecutive NBA scoring titles from 1973-74 to 1975-76 seasons. It is another feather in the cap of the Philadelphia 76ers superstar, as last season, he became the first center since Shaquille O’Neal to clinch the NBA scoring title.

Embiid finished the 2022-23 NBA season by averaging 33.1 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 4.2 APG. He helped the 76ers secure the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 54-28 record.

Joel Embiid Is On Track To Win The 2022-23 NBA MVP Award

Throughout the 2022-23 NBA season, Joel Embiid has been among the top three candidates to win the MVP award. Over the last two seasons, the 76ers superstar has finished behind Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic.

But this season, according to NBA insider Shams Charania, Joel Embiid is the first choice among players around the league to become the most valuable player this season.

“It’s hard to deny Joel Embiid. When I talk to players around the league, it’s been trending toward Joel Embiid as their pick as their vote, as the guy that they view as the most dominant, the most valuable on a nightly basis. So I think when you talk to players, the vote is looking at Joel Embiid.”

Many significant superstars in the NBA believe that Embiid deserves to win the MVP award this season. Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors openly picked Joel as the frontrunner to win the MVP award.

All things considered, it feels like Embiid is all set to add the MVP award to his resume finally. It will be one of the biggest days in the 76ers superstar’s life.
